Our Story

Most people set off on a journey to different parts of the world in order to find themselves or to escape from their daily life's routine. Our case is a bit different: instead of searching for something, our intention is to be a sort of "cultural ambassador," to learn and to teach.

We're interested in discovering more about other populations, people, and most importantly cultures by answering questions like "How have cultures around the world been changed, helped, or hurt by globalization?" and "How have 'Western' ideas and values affected cultures around the world?" To us, these questions have been disregarded by most 'tourists', yet they play an extremely important role in the world today.

Our Mission

Embarking on a journey with a sense of adventure, spreading the gift of happiness, and following your dreams by traveling with a carpe diem attitude by boldly seeking out new and interesting experiences with different populations and cultures! Yeah!

Through our in-the-moment adventures we will promote awareness of the ecological and economic effects of traveling by providing insight and understanding into the impact of culture in today’s modern world

How?

Good question. Our insight and understanding will be achieved through direct interaction, adventure and teambuilding with cultures outside of the United States.

This website will be used as a platform for continuous updates, letting people draw their own conclusions based on a collection of: videos, opinion articles, reports, photography, art, etc.

Sketching

n. : a simply or hastily executed drawing or painting, esp. a preliminary one, giving the essential features without the details.

In preparation for our first "painting", the roadless travelers have been doing a few sketches over the past couple of years. Each of us has taken their own individual trip, exploring the possibilities of the big painting to come.

The Tentative Route

Start Date: September 30, 2008

This is a preliminary idea of what our route through South and Central America will look like. Click on the map below to see the full-size image, and use the links in the right column to get detailed information about what we did in each country.

Don't forget: we'll be journeying with a carpe diem attitude, meaning that things are most definitely going to change from this projected route.
